Billing and Refunds
What Sijil costs, how you pay for it, what happens if a payment is late, and how to get your money back — written so that a madrasa can plan around it rather than discover it.

Sijil is paid for by the madrasa, monthly, for the whole institution. Nothing is charged per student, per teacher or per sign-in, and no card is ever entered anywhere in the product. If you read only one more paragraph, read the one about what happens when a payment is late — it is the part that decides whether your register keeps working.
Sijil is operated by Hassan, an individual based in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan, trading as Sijil. Sijil is not a registered company. We intend to incorporate as Sijil Technologies; if we do, we will transfer this agreement to that company and tell you in writing before the transfer takes effect. Until then your counterparty is the individual named above, and we publish a city and country rather than a street address because the address available to us is residential.
1. What it costs
PKR 1,000 a month, for the madrasa. Not per student, not per teacher, not per device, and not more in the months when your enrolment is higher. One institution, one monthly figure, and the limits below are what that figure includes.
| Included in a plan | Limit |
|---|---|
| Students | 250 |
| Teachers | 10 |
| Classes | 10 |
Those numbers are ceilings we agree to, not walls the software builds. If your madrasa passes one, nothing breaks and nothing is deleted: we contact you, agree a higher plan, and raise the limit. Until that is agreed we may decline to add new students, teachers or classes — which is us saying no, not the product saying no, and the distinction matters because you can argue with us.
Sijil has not launched, and this figure may move before it does. What will not move is the figure your own madrasa agreed to: the price on the pricing page when you start paying is your price, a rise never applies to an invoice already issued, and you will hear from us at least a month before your next invoice if it is going to change. If you would rather leave than pay the new figure, leaving costs nothing and you keep your records.
2. The 30 days that cost nothing
A madrasa starts with 30 days free. There is no card to enter, so there is nothing to cancel and nothing that can quietly turn into a paid subscription on the thirty-first day. That is not a promise we are keeping carefully — it is a thing the product cannot do, because no part of it can take money from you.
When the trial ends, nothing happens in the software. No lock, no warning banner, no countdown. We get in touch and ask whether you want to carry on, and your account goes on working while you decide — a madrasa that is mid-term does not need its register taken away over a decision nobody has had time to make.
If you decide Sijil is not for you, tell us and that is the end of it — no invoice, no exit fee, nothing owed for the trial. Your records are not deleted the moment you say so, and they are not deleted on a timer either: they stay until you ask us to remove them, so that a decision taken in a difficult week can be reversed. When you do ask, a person removes them and the last copy leaves our backups within 7 days.
3. How you pay
We invoice you and you pay by whichever arrangement suits your madrasa: bank transfer, EasyPaisa, JazzCash, or cash. An invoice covers one month, says which month it covers, and comes to the administrator who opened the account unless you ask us to send it to somebody else — a treasurer, a trustee, whoever actually signs things off at your madrasa.
There is no card payment in Sijil. Not a saved card, not a hidden one, not a gateway waiting to be switched on — there is no field anywhere in the product in which a card number could be typed. So we hold no card details, no processor holds them on our behalf, and nobody here can take money out of your account. Every payment is something your madrasa sends on purpose, which is also why reminders exist: a payment that nobody sends does not arrive by itself.
One practical request: when you have paid, tell us the reference or send us the receipt at contact@sijil.pk. A transfer that lands with no name attached to it is the commonest reason a madrasa that has actually paid gets a reminder anyway, and it is easier to prevent than to unpick.
Our invoices come from an individual trading as Sijil, not from a registered company, so they do not carry a company registration number and we do not charge or collect sales tax. If your madrasa needs particular details on an invoice for its own accounts, ask and we will put them there if they are true.
4. If a payment is late
Locking an account and deleting what is inside it are different acts, and this document will not let them blur. A madrasa three weeks late on one month’s fee has not forfeited three years of attendance, and no invoice ever entitles us to take a child’s record off you. The worst that a late payment leads to is an account you can read but not add to, until it is settled or you decide to leave with your data.
- Your 30-day trial ends. Nothing happens to your account automatically — no lock, no deletion, no charge. We contact you and ask whether you want to continue.
- An invoice goes unpaid. We remind you two or three times, by email, WhatsApp or phone, over a period of weeks, and we ask what has gone wrong before we assume anything.
- If it stays unpaid after those reminders, we may set your account to read-only. Everyone can still sign in and read everything — attendance, fees, students, results of past work — but nothing new can be entered until the account is settled.
- Your records are preserved throughout. We do not delete a madrasa’s data for non-payment. If you decide to leave instead of paying, the closure terms apply and you get your data.
- If you pass a plan limit, we contact you, agree an upgrade, and raise the limit. Until then we may decline to add new students, teachers or classes.
Getting out of read-only is one payment or one message. If your madrasa’s own fee collection has had a bad month — an eid, a flood, a family that could not pay — tell us that instead of going quiet, and we will agree a date rather than lock a register. We would rather never use the lock at all; it exists because a service with no consequence for non-payment cannot survive to serve anybody. Write to contact@sijil.pk or call +92 371 2633733.
5. Getting your money back
For 14 days after your madrasa’s first payment, you can ask for it back and we will return all of it. You do not have to give a reason, and we will not ask how much you used it — a madrasa that has spent two weeks entering three hundred students and then decided this is not the system for it has earned a straight answer, not a negotiation.
- Inside 14 days of your first payment: the whole payment comes back, on request.
- After that: a month that has already begun is not refunded in part. You can stop whenever you like — we invoice monthly, so stopping means the next invoice never comes, and there is no exit fee.
- If we end the agreement for anything short of a serious breach of the terms: you get thirty days’ notice, your records, and a refund of anything you have paid for a period you will not now be using.
- If we stop operating Sijil altogether: ninety days’ notice, a complete copy of your records inside that period, and a refund for the time not served.
- If we invoice you wrongly and you pay it: we refund the difference as soon as either of us notices, at any time. A mistake of ours is not covered by any window.
A refund goes back the way it came — to the same bank account, the same EasyPaisa or JazzCash number, or in cash if that is how it was paid. We send it within a week of agreeing it and tell you the reference. If you want it sent somewhere other than where it came from, ask us in writing from the account’s own administrator; that is not bureaucracy, it is the only protection either of us has against somebody else asking on your behalf.
There is nothing else to refund, because there is nothing else charged. No setup fee, no per-student fee, no charge for adding a teacher, no training fee, no charge for getting your data out and no fee for leaving. If you are ever asked for one of those, it did not come from us.
6. Growing, and leaving
Upgrading is a conversation, not a checkout. If your madrasa is coming up against one of the ceilings, write to us and we will agree the higher figure and raise it. We do not invoice you in the middle of a month for the change, and we do not backdate it: the new figure starts from your next invoice. Nothing you have already entered is affected while that is being agreed.
Leaving is one message. There is no notice period, no exit fee and no final invoice for a month you have not started — the next one simply never comes. Ask us for a copy of your records before you go and we will send you one; you do not have to explain why you want it, and there is no charge for it. Closing the account does not delete anything by itself: your records stay until you ask for them to go, and then a person removes them and the last copy leaves our backups within 7 days.
There is no pause and no seasonal rate. If your madrasa closes for part of the year and you would rather not pay for months you are not using, tell us before the next invoice goes out rather than after it, and we will agree something in writing. What we will not do is let an unpaid invoice sit and then treat it as a decision you never made.
7. If an invoice looks wrong
Say so before you pay it, not after. While a genuine query is open the clock stops: no reminders, no read-only lock, no pressure to pay something you have asked us to explain. If we got it wrong we correct the invoice; if we got it right we show you how it was worked out, and the month runs from then.
The same applies the other way round. If a payment arrives that we cannot match to any madrasa — no name, no reference, nothing to go on — we ask you before we do anything else. An account is never locked over a payment that we may simply have failed to recognise, and if a reminder reaches a madrasa that had already paid, that is our mistake to apologise for and not yours to prove.
Write to contact@sijil.pk or call +92 371 2633733. The person who answers is the same person who issued the invoice, which is the honest description of a billing dispute in a service run by one person: you will get a decision quickly, and it will not be reviewed by anybody else. Where this page adds detail the terms and conditions do not carry, this page is that detail. Where the two ever seem to disagree about the agreement itself, the terms and conditions are the agreement.
